A few of you have emailed me, asking where I am in my 52 Week progress. So, here’s where I am, 10 full weeks into the year:
- Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer
- New Moon, by Stephenie Meyer
- Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer
- Breaking Dawn, by Stephenie Meyer
- A Wedding in December, by Anita Shreve
- The School of Essential Ingredients, by Erica Bauermeister
- Chasing Harry Winston, by Lauren Weisberger
- The Guy Not Taken, by Jennifer Weiner
- The Time Travelers Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger
- Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen
- The Gatecrasher, by Madeleine Wickham
- Picture Perfect, by Jodi Piccoult
Of these, my favorites have been the Twilight Series, The Time Travelers Wife, and Water for Elephants. They were all engaging, had great storylines, and kept me reading, reading, reading. i also really liked Picture Perfect. it was very well written and I will seek out Piccoult’s books at the library to read her again.
I do not recommend Weiners books. I found the characters poorly defined, no plot to speak of, and I simply just couldn’t get into any of her books. I tried, and this one was the only one I committed to, but only because I wanted to get through it, not because it made we want to keep reading.
I am taking all of your suggestions to heart, and if our library has the book, I am trying to get my hands on it. I would love to hear more recommendations – it’s going to be a long year without them!

What a great project! I really need to check out the Twilight series, huh? They sound like such gripping books!
I really enjoyed the City of Bones series.
I loved Water for Elephants and the School of Essential Ingredients. I am starting The Way Life Should Be. I have heard it is really good. Have you read The Blue Bistro? A great one! I also read The Lucky One by Sparks. Happy Reading to you!
I loved “The Secret Life of Bees”. I am also a repeat reader of “The Thorn Birds”.

The Time Travelers wife and Water For Elephants were both favorites of mine. Loved them.
Keep it up!
Does it count if you read #1-4 twice?
I’m on my second round…
Check out Bread Alone by Judith Hendricks. (Actually anything by her) and also Jo-Ann Mapson is a great author to read.
Good for you!
Have you ever read Eat, Pray, Love or Freakonomics? Both are quick, enjoyable reads
