Progresso Soup Review & Giveaway
I get asked to review LOTS of things.
LOTS.
And I almost let this one slip right on by without even trying it myself.
You see, Progresso and MyBlogSpark set me up with a nice package of the new Progresso Reduced Calorie Soups and told me about a great contest they have going on for fans of the soup to win a fabulous makeover. YOU KNOW WHAT I did with the cans of soup?
I sent them in my husbands lunch box. Score for me! I didn’t have to make him anything to eat!
Of course, getting a comment out of an outdoorsman on the quality of healthy soup is pretty much NOT going to happen. But he ate it, without complaining. 10 CANS of it. And the other day, when all of my “review” soups were gone?
He BOUGHT more. On his own. Seriously! He came home with a bag full of the Progresso soups! I wish I had known that this was his intention as I would have printed him off the coupons!
I finally bit the bullet and opened a can for myself the other day. You see, I am not a real fan of canned soups, unless it’s Chicken Noodleos. Noodle Ohhhhs. Don’t ask me why. Maybe because it tastes like childhood. Beats me. But anyway, I went for a can of French Onion. I’ll often get French Onion if we go out to eat, because hello? I love cheese and bread on my soup. I was afraid the “healthy” aspects of the Progresso would make the soup bland, unflavorful, blahhhhck. You know what??
The soup was fantastic. I topped it with a piece of toasted bread and cheese (thereby adding several calories, but there are so few calories IN the soup you aren’t going to get fat just from my additions!) If I were forced to have picked the canned soup out of a line up I couldn’t have done it. It really was excellent. And pretty much healthy!
Now, the contest for the makeover is STILL going on. See below for details on that – you should enter!
But, if you just want to win a prize pack from me (and MyBlogSpark and Progresso), comment here on this post and you could win a big fat soup mug, 2 cans of the soup and a digital jumprope (to offset those calories you added with the bread and cheese!)
Just leave me a comment telling me your favorite flavor of canned soup – or – an interesting way you have used a can of soup, such as in a crock pot full of meat, or in a casserole of some sort. Help me out! I want to get over my fear of canned soup. You can steer me in the right direction! I’ll close this contest on Saturday at midnight, so enter now!
For more info on the Progresso – here’s a little bit straight from the horse’s mouth…have a great day everyone!
